London: Thomas Tegg, 1843. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 8vo. (Vol. 2 only of 2) blind stamped cloth, rubbed, front hinge partially split. Slight edge soiling, but essentially good and clean inside. Final pages little creased at bottom edges. Book plate of Alexander Thomson of Banchory. Earlier chapters deal with the science of the day, several of a religious nature followed by his proposals for converting the "Savage Americans". Another chapter deals with his proposals for establishing a college in America, plans which came to nought. His final section deals with the virtues of drinking 'tar water, ' whatever that is.
