Gilt embossed titles to the spines with 'George Meredith' gilt embossed to the front board. Upper edges gilt. A very attractive clean tight india paper pocket edition set. The titles are: the tragic comedians, Sandra Belloni, Rhoda Fleming, Vittoria, Lord Ormont and his Aminta, One of our Conquerors, The adventures of Harry Richmond, The Amazing Marriage, Poems vols. 1 & 2, The Ordeal of Richard Feverel, Evan Harrington, The shaving of Shagpat, Diana of the Crossways, Beauchamp's Career, An essay on Comedy, The Egoist, The tale of Chloe and other stories. Bumps to some corners and to the heads/tails of spines. The occasional stain mark to the odd board edge. A little uneven fading to the cloth spines. The gilt of 'An essay on comedy' a little faint. A few leaves uncut and a few leaves proud (i.e not cut in the right place by the printer) A very good, clean, tight, attractive well preserved set in original publisher's cloth.
