John B. Alden, 1885. Hardcover. Near Very Good. A Very Good - volume bound in blue cloth; top edge gilt (dulled) with gilt spine titles. Originally issued in 1849. Crown is frayed and lacking approx. 1/8" of cloth, with corners gently bumped and well worn. Interior is clean - with only a lovely gift inscription on blank front free end-paper, dated 1932 and on another blank front fep, a name, with date of 1885. Front hinge weak, but a tight text block. Several pages uncut. Illustrated with thirteen plates. Ruskin was skilled as a scientific observer of nature. Heavy volume, suggest Media postage.
