Richly illustrated throughout with vignette engravings primarily by George Scharf, 8 ornamental chromolithograph plates by Owen Jones including the coloured decorative borders surrounding the text. Full green morocco, bound by Remnant Edmonds & Remnants, with wide ornate gilt borders to upper and lower covers, five faux raised bands with ornate gilt compartments to the spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, gilt dentelles, and ribbon bookmark. Very minor offsetting to pages adjacent to chromolithographs, else interior crisp and clean. Front cover expertly reattached, hinges strengthened with complimentary Japanese paper, headcap repaired, restoration of this fine binding skilfully executed. Overall, a very handsome book.. Full Leather. Very Good. Stout Octavo.
