Two works in five volumes - 'Works', (published 1840), Volume One - viii, 462pp; Volume Two - 467pp, [1] and Volume Three - iv, 465pp, [1]: 'Memoir', (published 1855), Volume One - xvi, 436pp and Volume Two - xxiv, 546pp. Uniform, slightly later, straight grain morocco, raised bands, spines in six panels, morocco title label to second panel, contrasting volume label to third, remaining panels with gilt central lozenge and volute corner pieces, covers with gilt double fillet border and tudor rose corner pieces, with central gilt device and initials, nonpareil marbled endpapers with all edges marbled. Spines slightly faded, very minor rubbing to extremities, light foxing to endpapers and engraved portrait, occasional spotting to margins, but generally quite bright and clean. Smith, Sydney (1771 - 1845), author and wit, co-founder of the Edinburgh Review (See ODNB). Second Edition. Full Morocco. Very Good. 8vo.

It is open between 10am and 4pm weekdays, any other times by appointment. Not all of the books in the shop are listed on the website. We are members of the PBFA and ABA and exhibit at several of their book fairs, please see our fairs / events page.
