THE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE, complete set of 12 volumes, plus Index volume. Rev. Henry N. Hudson, Revised Edition with Notes (1881). Marbled boards with leather corners and spines. Gilt spine titles and decorations. Text blocks have gilt top edges. Minor bumping to corners of covers and spine extremities. Six volumes have parts of the back strips missing from the spines, but overall, a handsome set. Front and back endpapers have discoloration resulting from the books having protective covers at some point in their life. Previous (original) owner's name written on the FFEP of each volume. Pages toned, but clean and unmarked. Frontispiece tissue guards in place. All solidly bound, with straight spines. ABOUT THE EDITOR: American-born Rev. Henry N. Hudson (1814- 1886) was widely known as a Shakesperean scholar.
