New York: Worthington Co, 1890. Early Printing. Leather bound. Near fine. The Works of Thomas Gray edited by Edmund Gosse, published in New York in 1890.. Small octavo, complete in four volumes. Three quarter leather with marbled paper boards. Marbled endpapers. Title in gilt on spine, with thin gilt decor. Four bands on each spine. All text blocks solid, with light rubbing to corners and edges. The occasional dog-eared leaf in Volume I. Volume II rear hinge starting. All volumes with frontispieces and tissue covers. A vibrant, near fine example of an accomplished poet's works. Thomas Gray (1716-1771) was considered one of the best lyrical poets of the eighteenth century.
