Published by The Nottingham Society, New York/ Philadelphia / Chicago, circa 1900 (no date given). The books measure 5.75" x 8.5". Bound in publisher's original half leather binding over cloth boards. Top edge gilt. The set is in fair to good condition. The boards have moderate to heavy shelf wear. Leather is chipped and torn along the spine of all of the volumes. Leather is dry and cracked on most of the spines. Lacking volumes 2 & 3, comprising the majority of Les Miserables, and volume 7. The 7 volumes include: Notre Dame / Last Days of a Condemned, Les Miserables (Book 5) / Hans of Iceland, Toilers of the Sea / Bug Jargal, The Man Who Laughs / Claude Gueux, The History of a Crime / Napoleon the Little, Poems and Dramas, Shakespeare / Life of Hugo.
