Sobre este artículo

London: Henry Fisher, Son, and P. Jackson, 1828. English clergyman, utilitarian, and philosopher, William Paley (1743 - 1805), is best known for his natural theology explanation of the teleological argument for the existence of God. This argument centers around the idea that things in the natural world function on such a complex level, that there must be a higher power. Complete in two volumes. Includes tracts on Christianity, natural history, astronomy, anatomy, morality, and more. Bound in full maroon leather with gilt title and volume numbers, gilt rules, and gilt decoration stamped to spines. Elaborate embossed design to boards. Leather is cracked in places on all four hinges, but boards remain attached. Wear to edges and corners with loss to leather on all corners, some bumped corners. Chipping to leather on spines, rubbing and scuffing to boards. Frontispiece portrait to first volume. Book seller markings to endpapers, else clean and bright interiors. Full speckled edges. A few darker spots (possibly ink) to fore-edge of first volume. Volume I: 290 pages; Volume II: 202 pages plus 2 pages of ads.
