A book club edition in a two-volume set, published by Nelson Doubleday Inc. in Garden City, 1966. Both volumes measure 5.75'' x 8.5'', with the first volume running to 312 pages and the second to 532. Both volumes come with their original dust jackets. The first volume dust jacket is in very good condition. There is some minor chipping and scuffing throughout, most noticeably at the top of the front panel. Slight foxing at the bottom of the rear flap. Slight offsetting on the inside of the jacket. The text on the flaps is slightly toned but clean and complete. The book itself is in very good plus condition. Slight shelf wear to the spine, and no bumping or scuffing to the corners. The blue lettering on the spine is clean, legible, and bright. The front endpaper is torn in half. Slight foxing to the edges that occasionally bleeds through to the very edges of the pages. The text block is bright, clean, and complete. The binding is sound. The second volume dust jacket is in very good condition. Minor chipping and scuffing throughout, and a small tear on the bottom of the rear panel. Slight offsetting to the flaps and insides of the panels. The text on the flaps is slightly toned but clean and complete. The book itself is in very good condition. Slight shelf wear to the spine, and no bumping or scuffing to the corners. The blue lettering on the spine is clean, bright, and legible. White stains on the top of the rear board. The front endpaper is torn in half. Slight moisture spotting on the bottom of the rear panel and endpaper, and on the last section on the fore-edge, bleeding into the pages occasionally. Slight foxing to the edges and occasionally to the text. Overall, the text block is bright, clean, and complete. The binding is sound.
