This book is an amazing read, it pulled me in to the point that I literally couldn't put it down until my eyes rolled back in my head and I passed out from exhaustion. Pick up a copy and get yourself pulled into the pages as I did. You can thank me later!!!

Zombie novels have become a very popular sub-genre over the years, but few if any measure up to this one. In it, Max Brooks adopts an unusual literary device to tell the story of a zombie apocalypse and its aftermath. Though a series of wide-ranging “oral history interviews” modeled after the real-life work of Studs Terkel, Brooks recounts the rise of a pandemic that turns millions into the walking undead and the efforts by the survivors to reclaim the planet. Throughout it Brooks provides a commentary on contemporary politics and society that is starting to feel a little dated yet by no means detracts from the horror of the events he describes. By weaving a zombie apocalypse novel out of the tales of its survivors, he creates a work that is both wide-ranging an intimate at the same time, one that is a must-read for anyone who is a fan of the type.
