Sobre este artículo

Toronto: McClelland & Stewart, 1993. (CAD) Preseumed first edition. No markings, Fine in unclipped Very Good dust jacket with small wavy spot to the lower corner of the back panel. Cloth, 232pp, index, B&W photos. Though almost forgotten today, Notman was a dominant figure of photography in the U.S. and Canada in the 1870s and '80s. His Montreal-based family firm documented a continent's prideful development through photographs of architectural triumphs, universities and the land's ascendant citizens in elaborately staged studio portraits. Longfellow, Emerson, Mark Twain, Lillie Langtry, the exiled Jefferson Davis, a young George V, Sitting Bull, Buffalo Bill, scholars, statesmen and tycoons posed for Notman cameras. The book inckudes 173 duotones and 70 halftones. A heavy book. (4.5 JM HOJ 300/b3. 1st. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12".

Sobre JWMah

JWMah has been selling out-of-print, used and rare books on the Internet since 1997. Our stock consists of a good balance of fiction and non-fiction books in a wide range of subjects. We also sell classical Lp records. Our Cookbooks, Canadiana, Travel and Exploration catalogues are worth a look. We examine each book that we sell and try our best to grade the books conservatively. We are strictly an internet business, so usually the books put up for sale are in stock. We try update our books every two days so that our listings are as fresh as possible. It is best to contact us by e-mail or by telephone to reserve a book, as some books sell quickly. We are located in Canada's westcoast and we ship internationally.
