Published by Donald M Grant, West Kingston, RI, USA, 1974. 8vo up to 9½" tall. 233pp. Essay by Robert Howard; black and white illustrations and jacket design by David Ireland. Red cloth boards with gilt titles. Volume is in fine, unmarked condition and housed in unclipped jacket which has very light top edge rubbing; protected in clear sleeve.
The title story was originally published in the magazine Weird Tales in November 1932, and features one of Howard's recurring protagonists, Bran Mak Morn, a legendary king of the Picts. Contains 6 additional stories and three poems. Robert Ervin Howard was an American writer. He wrote pulp fiction in a diverse range of genres. He is well known for his character Conan the Barbarian and is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery.
