Mezzotint frontis after Mackmurdo. The cover and title-page design by the author are widely recognized as the the first expression of Art Nouveau in England. Mackmurdo founded the Century Guild of Artists in 1882 and in addition to his architectural practice designed furniture and other cabinetry. Scarce. . Good. Parchment Paper Spine. 1883.
