London: Methuen, 1900. [Poetry]. FIRST EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14 cm), pp.121; [3], blank; 48, catalogue dated October 1900 (second issue). Publisher's red cloth pictorially stamped and lettered in gilt, rough-cut top edge, other edges trimmed. Some acceptable wear and marking, occasional foxing; very good. The author's second book, being a collection of verse from the Boer War, in which Wallace served as an Army Medic. Includes the poem 'Tommy to his Laureate' where 'Tommy' Atkins addresses Rudyard Kipling. Eric Quayle; Detective Fiction, p.106.
