This is a terrific condition, vintage copy of "The Writings of THOMAS JEFFERSON " - Selections from the Personal, Political, Philosophical, and Epistolary Writings of Thomas Jefferson with its original slip case. 1967; The Limited Editions Club; Lunenburg, Vermont. This copy is #1,195 of only 1,500 copies printed, and is SIGNED by the illustrator, Lynd Ward. The contents are grouped into "Autobiographic," "Affairs of State, Education, Religion & Slavery," and "Letters." Nicely illustrated with numerous lithographs (colored blue) by Ward.
Here are a few examples of the contents: The Declaration of Independence; First Inaugural Address; A Summary View of the Rights of British America; A Bill for Establishing Religious Freedom; Slavery; The Federal Constitution - to James Madison; On Personal Relations - to Maria Jefferson Eppes; Socrates and Jesus - to Joseph Priestly; On Behavior - to Jefferson Randolph; Philosophy and Religion - to John Adams; The Invention of Elevators - to Isaac McPherson; On the Constitution - to Samuel Kercheval...and much more.
Condition:
The book is in Near Fine condition - clean both inside and out with only a tiny, light stain spot near the bottom of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages The pages are clean and appear unread with no issues found. The slip case is in Fine condition - clean and structurally sound with no wear at the opening.
