New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1916. First Edition. Near fine in its original red cloth covered boards with gilt text on the spine and gilt text on the front board. A small octavo of 7 1/2 by 4 7/8 inches with a prior owner's name in ink on the front paste down and the initials of that prior owner on the first free end page. 436 pages of text followed by four pages of ads by the publisher. A collection of eight short stories including Xingu, Coming Home, Autres Temps..., Kerfol, The Long Run, The Triumph of Night, The Choice and Bunner Sisters. Edith Wharton was the first female author to win the Pulitzer Prize for her book: The Age of Innocence in 1920. A very bright, clean and handsome copy.
