Sobre este artículo

London: Chapman and Hall, 1876. Hardbound. VG, with the exception of the frontice plate being loose and small library ownership marks (none on plates. From an art school library, internally tight and crisp. Red library buckram. 489 pp., with 21 color chromolithographs and 351 bw wood engravings. First published in French in 1874, and in English in 1876. This comprehensive survey of 18th century France covers a broad cross-section of French society including the nobility, bourgeoisie, military, clergy, and government, as well as discussions of cuisine, theater, and salons. Better than the second edition, since this edition has 21 color chromolithographs in addition to the 351 full-page and in-text woodblock illustrations.
