Good condition: light wear and soiling to extremities; scattered foxing to endpapers and fore-edge, some plates sticking together. This series issued by the U.S. Government is notable for the beautiful color lithographs with which they were illustrated. The article on the San Jose Scale includes four 1/2 page photo illustrations of fruit selling in China and a brief discussion of the "fruit-growing conditions of China and the locations of the principal fruit districts." Includes sections on Contamination on Public Water Supplies by Algae; Wet an Dry Seasons in California; The Cost of Food as Related to Its Nutritional Value; Grape, Raisin, and Wine Production in the United States, etc. With color plates of apples, peaches, almond, etc. .
