Hard to find with DJ because it has a glued on Drawing that has a border that can be framed, Iconic. The cover has another of the Iconic prints glued on the front board(vintage without the ugly yellow box). Book only has bruised spine ends and previous owners bookplate on the first leaf. very clean except mild page toning, very unread tightness and very square. Touched up no wear to boards showing.
DJ is soiled and with minor tears, stains on rear and wear along the edges. Price is intact.

Sinopsis
The Yearling is a 1938 novel written by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. It won the Pulitzer Prize for the Novel in 1939. Rawlings's editor was Maxwell Perkins, who also worked with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and other literary luminaries. She had submitted several projects to Perkins for his review, and he rejected them all. He instructed her to write about what she knew from her own life, and the result of her taking his advice was The Yearling.
