Lovely reprint edition copy of Shiel's 1898 novel of Yellow Peril and the thwarting of Dr. Yen How's attempt to take over Europe and the United Kingdom. This is the first New and Cheaper Edition in publisher's brown cloth with a delightful cover illustration showing a sinister Asian villain, complete with whip-like pigtail, astride the globe, his hands clutching towards England. Slight cocking to the spine and minor wear to the spine ends. Some foxing throughout, else Fine.
