London, Cassell & Company Ltd., No date circa 1915. Hardback, 7.5 x 5 inches. Light brown cloth with dark green lettering and paneled decoration to front and spine. Plain endpapers. In very good condition. Cover quite heavily rubbed, spine darkened, corners rubbed and nicked, small spits to cloth at ends of spine. Glue repairs to inner hinges. Some darkening to free endpapers, some light foxing spots to inside pages throughout. Author’s Inscription and signature to half title page “To Mr. Rudd, from H. Rider Haggard, 15, July 1915.” A couple of minor glue repairs to gatherings, else a clean and tight copy. 352pp.
