This is the inside story of our ladies in khaki as revealed in the letters of one of the first volunteers to arrive at Fort Des Moines to begin training in the WAAC (Women's Auxiliary Army Corps) in July of 1942 as an administrative specialist. The author tells of the sense of comradeship between WAACs and service men as they work toward a common goal. This book will tell of sergeants, shots, drilling, KP duty, inspections, nights off, and home thoughts. This is the story of the first women's army in history. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
