Sobre este artículo

New York: Duell, Sloan, & Pearce, 1940. Second edition. Hardcover. g+. Large Quarto. 190pp. Original gray cloth with stenciled gray lettering in red strip of cover and spine. Tan endpapers. Extraordinary collaboration and photo-documentation of the famous photographer Bourke-White and southern author Caldwell. Text and the collection of striking b/w photographs depict the rural American South and its troubles. A disclaimer at the front of the book reveals that legends and captions under the photographs "are intended to express the authors' own conception of the sentiments of the individuals portrayed; they do not pretend to reproduce the actual sentiments of these persons." Binding rubbed with light wear along edges, faint fraying at head and tail of spine. Book block with normal age-toning. Binding and interior in overall good+ condition.
