Sobre este artículo

Beaverton, Oregon: The Touchstone Press, 1974. Undetermined. near fine. edition limited to 1200 copies. xii, 195pp. Small quarto. Cream-coloured dust jacket with manuscript title over quarter green leatherette and cloth boards. Gilt titles to spine. Jacket with small chips and rubbing to corners and head and tail of spine. Inscription to Lee Straight from H.R. MacMillan on title page. Signed by Lee Richardson on dedication page. Limited to 1200 numbered copies, this being # 291. near fine A fantastic association copy of this limited fishing title with a small archive of correspondence between Lee Richardson (the author), Lee Straight (fishing author and long-time Outdoor Editor of the Vancouver Sun) and H.R. MacMillan (fisherman, Canadian lumber magnate and Companion of the Order of Canada). The correspondence beings with a letter from Lee Straight to H.R. MacMillan thanking him for the book, followed by three letters back and forth from Lee Richardson to Lee Straight. Straight inquires about the availability of more copies of the book for friends and then reminisces about their mutual fishing companions (H.R. MacMillian, Roderick Haig Brown-- who supplied the forward for this book-- Tommy Brayshaw, and others). Lee Richardson's letter to Straight praises his Vancouver Sun column and discusses the publication of this book as well as a book in the works on fishing in British Columbia. The letter from Richardson to Straight is hand written, two from the desk of Straight are carbon copies, and the 3rd letter from Straight is a photocopy. All in all, an excellent association copy of a fine book of reminiscences of fishing Western Canada, Western US, Alaska, Chile, and New Zealand with colour photos throughout. 1974
