Ribbon bookmark is, in fact, still in its original position. See scans. Large, hefty octavo, 728 pp.; full rich very dark green leather, gilt decorated and imprinted, spine panels rib divided, All Edges Gilt, pewter silk moire endpapers with matching gray satin page-marker ribbon. The gilt is 22k, and the paper is Franklin Library White 60-pound archival stock. Franklin's as-always lavish binding, here for Shaw's famed 1948 World War II intertwining saga, one of three intensely-characterized soldiers following very different internal emotional paths; later made into the film of the same name, with Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift and Dean Martin as the three soldiers. The Franklin Library, doing what they did best. Handsomely preserved. Please review scans.
