Sobre este artículo
1898 hardcover as pictured. An interesting and troubling look at the former Spanish "possessions" that came under control of the United States at the dawn of the American Century. This book was written soon after the Spanish American War, before the paternalism and excesses of American rule became obvious but the racism and western elitism are already present and disturbing. In short, it is a good example of the thinking that has casued so much of the trouble in the world today. This copy is well worn but remains very readable. Binding is intact. Blue cloth boards with silver, black and gold stamping are soiled with wear at edges and spine. The cloth is lifting from backing in places. Both hinges are loose, rear hinge is cracked. Endpapers are tanned with pencil notation at fore. Text is tanned, rippled and water stained at edges but appears otherwise clean and unmarked. No dust jacket.
