Sobre este artículo

Norwalk, Connecticut: Easton Press, 1997. [1997] This is the FULL GENUINE LEATHER FINE BINDING hardcover by Easton Press -- NOT THE REGULAR TRADE CLOTH BINDING OR THE CHEAPER COMPOSITE LEATHER. Deep green leather binding features beautiful gilt designs/gilt lettering, 348 pages, including extensive Index, Essay on Sources, and printed maps. Sophisticated binding: Four raised ridges on spine. Lettering, designs stamped with gorgeous accents of 22kt. gold -- a hallmark of fine bookmaking. This beautifully bound book hand selected from individually tanned hides. Textured and shaded, acid-neutral paper won't turn yellow over time. Pages are Smyth-sewn into binding for permanence (not glued like ordinary books). Edges gilded on three sides to enhance elegance of the book. Satin ribbon page marker bound in. Condition: Fine condition and collectible. (Other dealer listings of this book online may say Fine or New, but the books have been read. This book has never been read, it's still new.) Collectible book. In gift-giving condition. Zachary Taylor was the soldier who turned politician. He was a self-educated, selfless public servant. He was a national hero from the Mexican War, he supported the expansion of the nation, and the admission of California as a free state. In the White House, the major question of the period was whether slavery should be extended into, or excluded from, the vast western and southwestern area acquired by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Taylor, who owned slaves and planted cotton, took an adamant stand against slavery's expansion. This book covers Taylor (a Whig, elected President in 1848), even though there was very little research papers to draw from. Where possible, the account is based on Taylor's own description or on the correspondence he received. A remarkable book, in full leather, and very collectible. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly.. Leather Bound. Fine.

Sobre R. Siedlecki Vintage Books

We are a well-established, well-respected dealer that is professional, honest, and ethical in our business dealings. We tend to describe each book in a reserved, conservative manner, rather than oversell a book or sidestep the responsibility of addressing its flaws. Book club editions and library books along with books without dustjackets (if they came with dustjackets) are pointed out in our descriptions. We describe our books in detail, pointing out the precise condition of each book based on our opinion. It's your assurance that the book we describe is as close as possible to the book you’ll receive. In business since 1991, we typically have five-star ratings on major web sites.
