New York: Wiley and Putnam, 1842. Hardcover. Very Good. Two volumes in one book contain the history of the enigmatic Gypsy culture and an original collection of their songs and poetry. Little is known of their jargon, origin, migrations, characteristics, stories and traditions. Brown cloth boards with stamped decor on front, back and spine; gold gilt print on spine. Headband worn; slightly bumped corners. Partially detached front fly leaf; foxing front and back fly leaves. Slight foxing inside, but text is mostly clean. Previous owner's initials on title page. 321 pp. Volume I, 135 pp. Volume II, 35 pp. Vocabulary of their language, plus Miscellanies. Solid copy for age of book. Full refund if not satisfied.
