Admittedly the section on the methods of recording and the use of a tape recorder are a little bit dated, but the body of the book offers a solid grounding in the technique of obtaining oral history from a client. And 20 years after at the book was written, this technique still has a valid place in the recording methodology. Many of the political and economic refugees from Third World countries have a need to have their history understood, and this book will provide the techniques to record it.
