Descripción:
New York: Da Capo Press Inc. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1972. Reprint Edition. Hardcover. Library stamps/marks/labels/pocket/slip, otherwise light wear. Solid hardcovers.; Two volume set, Volume I Hearings and Report (ISBN: 030670465X) and Volume II Transcript of Record with the Decision and Opinions of the United States Supreme Court (ISBN: 0306704668). Berger, in 1910, "became the first socialist elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1919, he was convicted of violating the Espionage Act for his anti-militarist views and as a result was denied the seat to which he had been twice elected in the House of Representatives. The verdict was eventually overturned by the Supreme Court, and he was elected to three successive terms in the 1920s." - Wikipedia. These two volumes document the US House denial of Berger's eligibility. ; Civil Liberties in American History; Ex-Library; 918, vii, 17; 765, 22-41 in 2v pages .
