Very large, lavishly illustrated volume on military aircraft, a standard reference guide eye-catching enough to double as a coffee-table book. This is basically a new copy, with the jacket looking more casual, less starched and crisply folded than brand-new, after sitting on a quiet shelf for years, but not being worn to a notable degree. The price is suitably tamped down a bit. This is one of those books where kicked-around and cosmetically damaged copies are cheap and easily available, but nice ones are hard to find. One of the reasons, as is often the case, is the weight, and the ease at which 5 1/2 pounds of book can mess up a paper dust jacket. This one comes in a Mylar sleeve, fastened in with low-tack archival tape and fitted with corner guards -- all removable for the purist or the aviation buff who likes to live dangerously.
