Their objective is to investigate a strange alien race, known to the human visitors as the Kybers. These aliens, dwelling in a great network of ruined palaces, are partly biological creatures and partly machine, with the ability to switch themselves off at will, thus appearing to 'die' periodically. The gilt spine lettering is still bright. The dust jacket is not corner clipped, and is also in excellent condition, with light wear at tips and corners, but no rips, damage or fading. Very Good Condition/Very Good. 300 g; 160 pages, bound, unusually for Gollancz science fiction in blue papered boards, which shows signs of fading to the left-hand margin of the front panel and to the spine. The dustjacket has the appearance of having been crumpled and then ironed, retaining very faint creasing. The top edge of the text block is very faintly spotted with foxing.
