The book covers the ingredients available in Australia 150 plus years ago, and the recipes that utilise them. Sections on home-made wines, punches, liqueurs ketchup, preserves and conserves and dinner menus etc. are just part of the entertainment of this book. According to the Mitchell Library Edward Abbott (1801-1869) aka Australian Aristologist (1801-1869) rubbing to the top and bottom edges of the boards, short tears at the top and bottom left of the spine section of the jacket and the bottom right of the same, offset tanning to the front and rear illustrated endpapers.
