Also included some railway ephemera,a ticket and 2 paper compartment window destination banners.
None of the old railway companies had a more diverse,colourful or intriguing beginning than the Great Western.The events of the early years,woven into a continuous narrative by Nock,show how,against an exciting,sometimes sordid,background GWR's fine engineering traditions were built up.This part of the story ends in 1897 with the building of a Royal train,with which the GWR of the 19thC touched the very pinnacle of elegance.See also rjap1585.
