Oblong 4to. original boards with pictorial wrap (slightly rubbed, embossed title label to spine); pp. [ii], xii (last blank), 364 (last blank), with illustrations + 11 colour folding maps in built-in case. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 1.8 kg; XII, 364 pages, includes appendices, text is illustrated with black-and-white photographs, and tables, and charts. The binding format is a hard board for the back, blocked out with a box for the maps, and then above that the text block, bound with dark green tape to the left-hand side, and a photographic front panel which is somewhat creased. There is also a small grubby mark to the bottom of the box section. Previous owner's signature at top right-hand corner of the first page. Originally published with 12 maps, maps six is missing, and map 11 has a 6 inch tear along one of its creases. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
