Illustrated throughout full-page colour photography with the emphasis on the food, and not ambience, the book is divided into traditional and holiday dishes, breads, salad dressings and relishes, a couple of luncheon menus (well 26, but who's counting) and 26 dinner menus. The instructions for preparation are detailed, and there is no sign of a calorie counter anywhere in the book. Photographic illustrated dust jacket shows a partially set table, with what looks like soup with dumplings, cucumber salad, latkes, boiled rolled brisket, challah, and chopped liver.
