Dr. McMillan began his practice as a country doctor in 1928, serving the area around Baddeck, Cape Breton Island, and in his memoir he includes reminiscences of his older patients. Dr. McMillan was elected MLA in 1949. Medical school can't have prepared him for "Horses for Work, Fun and Profit" or "Sundays, Celebrities and Rum-Running", but he served his patients well for some 50 years and lived to tell the tale. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Back cover has a few creases, a small bent corner, a vertical crease at spine, a 1/4 inch rip at spine edge. Spine has a few vertical spine creases, small bits of colour missing and a few tiny chips. Front cover has a few vertical creases beside spine, and a small crease with 1/16 inch rip at top. Page edges tinted, as issued, slightly sunned. Inside of book is tight, clean, bright. Small bit of age darkening inside covers at binding and on edges of some pages. Book store stamp, ink, on ffep and round stamp on inside front cover. No photos. Black/white map. Contents.
