Translating an International Education to a National Environment Tapa dura - 1990

Julie I. Tallman, a doctoral candidate at the University of Pittsburgh School of Library and Information Science, is writing her dissertation on international library and information science students in U.S. programs. In addition to international library education, her interests are in youth services and historiography. She has twelve years experience in university, community college, and school library media centers. Tallman was President of the Doctoral Guild at the School, the sponsoring agency for the Conference. Joseph B. Ojiambo (Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh School of Library and Information Science) has done research on agricultural information systems and services. He is also interested in the management of libraries and information centers. He is chair of the Department of Library Studies on the Faculty of Information Science at Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya. A member of the Doctoral Guild, he was chair of the Conference Organizing Committee.
