A tight and unmarked copy-" This is one of my favorite books of all time. I have bought several copies through the years and given many away to friends. Roy explains how the story of King David and King Saul typifies the love of Jesus towards us, his enemies. King Saul was rejected as King because of his disobedience and he was replaced by David. God wants us to see that we need to give up ruling our own lives and let King Jesus take over. Until we see that our "good works" are sadly lacking and don't "cut the muster" with God and also that because of the cross, we can be forgiven and that our lives do belong to another and not to ourselves - we will never know what it means to say, "Not I, but Christ." Jesus Christ wants to live his life in us but we must first of all humble ourselves before him - we are not to be like King Saul who refused to give up his kingship to King David.
