Historical text traces the series of events in the life of William Kidd, a once respected sea captain who was later declared a notorious pirate in 1698 after he captured a Moorish vessel at the island of Madagascar; from his arrival in New York in 1691 and eventual marriage and involvement ijn politics, to his return to England in 1695 aboard the Antigua on a trading voyage during the British war with France; and several subsequent commissioned journeys which led him to the West Indies islands in 1699 where he succumbed to an obscure twist of fate. 248 pgs.
