Signed By Dorothy Brett And John Manchester On The Title Page; Also Inscribed By Them To Writer William Goyen (With Love) From Both, On The Dedication Page; And With Goyen's Ownership Signature On The Front Endpaper. When Goyen Moved To Taos After Wwii, He Was Given The Three Acres Adjacent To Brett's House Near Taos, Which Land Was Later Bought By Manchester. He Was One Of Those Few Brought To The Deathbed Of Lawrence's Widow.

Tan linen hardcover binding appears to be hand-bound, and has a red silk ribbon affixed to the front cover upon which is stamped in gilt "Lawrence and Brett." Number 83 of 300 copies, signed by Dorothy Brett and John Manchester on a bookplate affixed to the front endpaper. Contains a total of 32 illustrations, 28 of which are tipped-in, some of which are in color. Includes an additional red silk ribbon upon which is stamped in gilt "Lawrence and Brett" which has slightly discolored the surrounding pages. The text is otherwise clean and unmarked. Includes a 8-page exhibition catalogue titled "The Brett. Fifty Years of Painting in New Mexico 1924-1974" published by Jamison Galleries of Santa Fe in conjunction with Manchester Galleries of Taos.
