A diary by the German film director, originally published in German in 1978, of a pilgrimage he undertook from Munich to Paris. Herzog undertook the walk on being told that a close friend, German film historian Lotte H. Eisner, was dying. He believed his walking could prevent her death, and was carried out in freezing conditions and snowstorms. 8vo (20cm). pp. 90. Black wraps with pictorial inset, orange lettering. Trace of foxing to upper page edges, minor wear, else a clean, firm copy. Uncommon in the English first.
