In FINE red cloth-covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine and a bright gilt regimental logo to the front cover - with added gilt (the stamp for embossing this must have had too much gilt on it! ) . Overall a Near Fine copy without inscriptions or other marks in a similar dust-jacket with just a touch of rubbing to the corners and a light crease to the rear cover. The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks FINE. Internally NO inscriptions or marks, but there is a crease line across the 'Foreword' page - NO damage. (x) + 446 pp. Fully illustrated, mainly in b/w, but with a few colour plates. 23 chapters, 10 appendices, 39 maps, bibliography & index. A fine work.
