Industrial Tribology: Sustainable Machinery and Industry 4.0 Tapa dura - 2022

Dr. Jitendra Kumar Katiyar, presently working as a Research Assistant Professor, in Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology Kattankulathur Chennai, India. His research interest includes modern manufacturing techniques, tribology of carbon materials, polymer composites, self-lubricating polymers, lubrication tribology, and coatings for advanced technologies. He obtained his bachelor degree from UPTU Lucknow with Honours in 2007. He obtained his masters, from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2010 and Ph.D. from the same institution in 2017. He is the life member of Tribology Society of India, Malaysian Society of Tribology, Institute of Engineers, India and The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) etc. He has authored/ co-authored/ published more than 35+ articles in reputed journals, 35+ articles in international/national conferences, 15+ Book Chapters, 10+ books published in Springer and CRC Press USA. Further 4 books in a row to come in CRC Press and Springer Nature. He is serving as a guest editor for special issue in Tribology Materials, Surfaces and Interfaces, Journal of Engineering Tribology Part J, Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering Part E, Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, Material Science and Engineering Technology, and Frontier in Mechanical Engineering: Tribology. Further, he is Member Editorial Board in Tribology Materials, Surfaces and Interfaces and Review Editor in Frontier in Mechanical Engineering. He is also an active reviewer in 20+ reputed journals related to materials, manufacturing and tribology. He has also delivered more than 35+ invited talk on various research fields related to tribology, composite materials, surface engineering and machining. He has organized 7+ FDP/Short Term Courses and International Tribology Research Symposium in tribology.

Professor Alessandro Ruggiero, PhD from 1999 to 2005 was Assistant Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Salerno, where he has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Industrial Engineering since 2005 till today. In 2017 he received the National qualification to Full Professor in Applied Mechanics. He authored more than 220 scientific papers on prestigious indexed international journals and national and international proceedings. He serves as Editor, member of the Editorial Board and reviewer for many WoS/SCOPUS indexed International Scientific Journals and as evaluator of national and international research projects. He cooperates with numerous international Universities and prestigious Research Centers. Actually, he is member of the IFToMM Technical Committee for Tribology and National Coordinator of Italian AIMETA Tribology Group. His current research interests are focused on (bio) tribology, biomechanics, in-silico wear calculation of artificial human synovial joints, but they include also dynamics of mechanical systems, noise and vibration measurements, mechanical measurement and diagnostic on mechanical systems.

Professor T V V L N Rao received PhD in Tribology of Fluid Film Bearings from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2000, and MTech in Mechanical Manufacturing Technology from the National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Calicut in 1994. Rao's current research interests are in Bearings, Lubrication and Tribology. He has authored (and co-authored) over 120 publications till date. He has secured (as PI and Co-PI) several research grants from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia and a research grant from The Sumitomo Foundation, Japan. Rao is a member of Editorial Board (2022) in Tribology & Lubrication Technology (TLT). He is a member of Guest Associate Editors in Journal of Engineering Tribology, Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, Tribology - Materials, Surfaces & Interfaces, Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering. Rao is an executive member (2015-2021) of Malaysian Tribology Society. He is a member of Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, Malaysian Tribology Society and Tribology Society of India. Rao is currently Professor and dean in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering & Technology at The Assam Kaziranga University. Prior to joining this university, he served as Professor and HOD at MITS (2021-2022), Research Associate Professor at SRMIST (2017-2020), Visiting Faculty at LNMIIT (2016-2017), Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2010-2016), and Assistant Professor in BITS Pilani at Pilani (2000-2004, 2007-2010) and Dubai (2004-2007) campuses.

Professor J. Paulo Davim received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997, M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (materials and manufacturing processes) in 1991, Mechanical Engineering degree (5 years) in 1986, from the University of Porto (FEUP), the Aggregate title (Full Habilitation) from the University of Coimbra in 2005 and the D.Sc. from London Metropolitan University in 2013. He is Senior Chartered Engineer by the Portuguese Institution of Engineers with an MBA and Specialist title in Engineering and Industrial Management. He is also Eur Ing by FEANI-Brussels and Fellow (FIET) by IET-London. Currently, he is Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, with special emphasis in Machining & Tribology. He has also interest in Management, Engineering Education and Higher Education for Sustainability. He has guided large numbers of postdoc, Ph.D. and master's students as well as has coordinated and participated in several financed research projects. He has received several scientific awards. He has worked as evaluator of projects for ERC-European Research Council and other international research agencies as well as examiner of Ph.D. thesis for many universities in different countries. He is the Editor in Chief of several international journals, Guest Editor of journals, books Editor, book Series Editor and Scientific Advisory for many international journals and conferences. Presently, he is an Editorial Board member of 30 international journals and acts as reviewer for more than 100 prestigious Web of Science journals. In addition, he has also published as editor (and co-editor) more than 120 books and as author (and co-author) more than 10 books, 80 book chapters and 400 articles in journals and conferences (more than 250 articles in journals indexed in Web of Science core collection/h-index 51+/8500+ citations, SCOPUS/h-index 56+/10500+ citations, Google Scholar/h-index 72+/17000+).
