With a background as a musician on the '60s rock scene, Mike Evans began writing about popular music in the '70s as a broadcaster on local radio and a freelance writer. His work appeared in Sounds, Creem, and, as a regular contributor, Melody Maker. His books include the bestselling Elvis: A Celebration (2002) and Sterling's own Woodstock: Three Days That Shook the World (2009). He lives in London.
