He also holds certifications as a schoolteacher and a tennis coaching professional. His passion for working with grief arose from his own personal losses in which he realized there were very few places to go for support. Ted and his wife, Marcella, are the founders of Golden Willow Retreat, an emotional healing center focused on grief, loss, and resiliency located outside of Taos in Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico. Director of Golden Willow Retreat, Ted is also the Clinical Supervisor for TeamBuilders Counseling Services in Taos, which works with children and their families in need of mental health services and community support throughout New Mexico. Ted is sought after for speaking engagements internationally.
