S Paul Klein was still a student at American University when he sold his first scripts: two dramas produced for radio. That experience led him to a career as a writer/producer of informational and educational films, but radio book-ended his scriptwriting years when he wrote and produced a half-hour docu-drama for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in 2003. In between were hundreds of produced filmscripts about industry, art, politics, religion, science and medicine. After retiring from active production, Klein turned first to personal essays, many of them collected under the title, Mixed Freight, Checking Life's Baggage. Originally published in 2010, it was re-released in a revised edition in 2016. A collection of suspense stories, Unusual Suspects: Four Stories of Suspicion, Suspense and Murder, was published in 2014.
