Trade paperback. Dark blue textured paper covers w/ color photo front paste-on, farm scene. Gilt titles, double line front border. 22 cm. "Furnace Brook Farm" begins a home-based series in which Rutland, Vermont, physician writes of acquiring and refurbishing a rural farm in that region. Neurologist Margaret Waddington had widely published her medical illustrations of the brain in textbooks; and retirement opened other opportunities for a variety of short-run publications of children's literature beginning in 1988. The Furnace Brook series and others followed.
