Descripción:
New York: Princeton Architectural Press, 2006. Fine.. First English language edition of this scarce study of Wenche Selmer's midcentury residential timber architecture. This first book on Selmer explores her architectural achievements as well as her position as a professional woman in postwar Europe. Though Selmer pursued an independent career, her husband's name appeared "on many of the drawings for which she had sole responsibility" - as well as on their collaborative projects, for which he alone initially received the 1969 Timber Award, until Selmer corrected the record and received equal recognition. An illuminating monograph on an important figure in 20th century Norwegian architecture. 11'' x 9.5''. Translated from the Norwegian by Kristin Askgaard. Original pictorial boards. 208 pages. Illustrated throughout in color and black and white.
